I booked a king room with a fantastic view, and it included drinks and maps; the remote location is marvelous and close to Derwentwater and the narrowest bridge.

The very caring and helpful staff gave us a freshly decorated room after a long flight. The view of valley was splendid, as well as remote location short walk to the Lakes District eg Buttermere, Ambleside and Windermere, the lovely Newlands valley, and the narrowest bridge possible. Plus, our hotel was located 3 km from tourist attractions like St Herbert's Island.
Shame the bathroom was quite small.

Plenty of delightful food, we appreciated it. The venue was in a remote location close enough to a beautiful valley behind catbells as well as the Lakes.

John
This place was calm and cozy, within walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit, and the restaurant served amazing hot dishes.

Enjoyed my Easter holiday in a beautiful part of the countryside. The breakfast was great, with delicious local produce, and the staff were friendly and willing to offer advice on the nearby attractions. The hotel has a prime location, just a short drive from the town and the lake. The homely feel of the property was also a plus.
The early morning noise of the rooster was expected given the location of the hotel on a working farm. the narrow roads leading to the property could become a problem when driving in larger vehicles.
